Friday May 16th, 2014 was the greatest day in the capital Lilongwe as the whole town was swept by a wave of the grand opening of the first ever “Learning Work Company” (LWC) in Malawi. Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute in partnership with MBO Utrecht of the Netherlands has tirelessly worked to the establishment of Savio Bites. Savio bites – your best choice restaurant in town – is one of the many LWC’s that Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute and MBO Utrecht are establishing in Malawi.
LWC is a project that seeks to add the missing component in vocational training and to produce graduates that are ready to take up challenging responsibilities. The project, reaches this goal by offering students a practical experience while they learn in college. The initial setup adds to the developing tourism sector of our beautiful country Malawi.
